This paper points out the GEU - Study Group on Universitys trajectory, and its conception of research and practice on Higher Education as a Field of study. It presents the mediations to the building of the notions that supports the creation and development of the group: multi / interdisciplinarity origin, intersection of research and education of future university professionals, institutional inception and relations to academic associations. Also, the efforts of GEU concerning to its development, the search for interdisciplinarity and the building of academic networks, are showed.
