Open access to journals and digital repositories in Library and information science in Brazi

Abstract

This essay focuses on the scientific communication transformations within the Information Science in Brazil, particularly those related to open access to digitaljournals and repositories. It is aimed to describe the characteristics of the openaccess Library and Information Science journals. The present context of Brazilianpublications was examined collecting data through a survey procedure. Resultsshowed that Brazilian scientific community is motivated in getting into the newscientific communication paradigm.
