School librarian encouraging the reading activity through webquest

Abstract

The study has as aim to verify the use of the Webquest in order to develop children reading interest, in the 5th grade of a public institution of the Elementary School. The research-action was the adopted methodology, and a Webquest was elaborated and applied to a group of ten students. When analyzing the Webquest since its elaboration and application until reaching the results, we tried to verify whether that tool - which basically uses resources from the Internet – presents any kind of benefit when it comes to developing the reading interest. It could be noticed, through a participative observation, the efficiency of the Webquest use developed by the researchers and explored by the students in reading activities.
