THE SECONDARY SCHOOL IN QUESTION
STUDY ON THE PLACE OF FREE TIME IN THE TEACHING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN TODAY'S SCHOOL
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to discuss the concept of free time in secondary education, based on the extension of mandatory teaching in Argentina and, in this framework, the consolidation of the right to access free time as a universal right. In this theoretical approach, the extension of that mandatory nature allows access to free time as a social practice that is linked, in a significant way, with the playful and historically situated cultural experiences. In this line, a review and analysis of the materials prepared by the General Directory of Culture and Education of the Province of Buenos Aires in a situation of preventive and mandatory social isolation (ASPO) is carried out in response to the pandemic, as a consecuence of COVID-19. This article displays the study of the Pedagogical Continuity Program, specifically in the Physical Education subject, scheduled and communicated during the first quarter of the 2020 school year, aimed at the secondary level. In this context, the free time is recognized as a "universal" right of Secondary Education; meanwhile, the school, as the institutional environment, is physically closed ; revealing that the rights that are put into play there, are now hardly materialized in a school "at home".
