The study involved 57 hypertensive and/or diabetic patients of the Ipatinga Basic Health Unit, and aimed to assess their knowledge and use of salt and sugar substitutes. Use of sweeteners was reported by men and women, but mostly by men. 100% of the sample reported use of sweeteners in single or mixed forms (2 or more types of sweeteners). Use of potassium chloride was reported by one woman, demonstrating the need for further orientation about its use.Downloads
