The results of nursing research are used increasingly to support nursing practices. In this context, the use of qualitative methods in the research produced in the field of nursing has also increased. These methods are more suitable to answer the questions that emerge from the nursing experience. This fact justifies the importance of introducing the teaching the qualitative research in the nursing undergraduate course. In this paper, the authors describe their experiences using strategies to teach the course "Introduction to Qualitative Research in Nursing" to undergraduate students of the School of Nursing of the University of São Paulo.
